My Prayer
Dear God,
I stand here humbled
I know you answer prayer
I give you thanks to soften the way
Fulfill my request
It costs you nothing, for you are God
I thank you in advance
Do this for me and see what I will do for you
I will thank you to give you glory
Everything is yours, but I give myself to you
You are a God that loves to give
And I will thank you for giving to me
My answer to my prayer
Jesus,
How do I approach you?
On my knees? On my face?
I will stay far off: teach me to pray
It cost you everything: The Father’s son, your life.
The Father’s Glory revealed on the Cross.
Why would you do this for me?
I can give you nothing but my brokenness,
Condemned already, dependent, lost.
Your body and blood purchased my salvation and
Forgiving, thank you.
I do not know how to pray,
You are the answer to my prayer.
A reimagining of Luke 18:9-14
And unfortunately my prayer life this week…
