Grant a Release
In the seventh year you are to set him free.

Six days You worked, and it was very good.
Then the Sabbath rest.
This is the pattern You gave, not for You,
Given for me.
In debt as a bondservant because of sin,
Serving with fidelity, it is time
Grant a release.
Not based in my fidelity, but Yours
Your faithfulness to the skies.
What is the look of freedom as Christ sets me free?
Yes: free to serve, free to give, free to love.
Yet in my mind, still a slave to sin.
Grant a release.
The debt has been cancelled
You will not send me away empty handed
You have provided the Lamb, the Bread, the Wine
Given for me.
Grant a release.
No longer call me a servant,
Call me Your friend,
I still serve,
Grant a release.
At the end of seven years grant a release.
