Tick Tock
This is one of those weeks I have not felt I have had enough time to do anything. My wife has been away at a business conference (which is awesome, I am glad she got to go…no guilt intended love, just the facts), Several serious issues popped up this week, and I am honored I got called in to help share God’s peace. Track season and a band convert for my daughter, special classes for my son. Wrapping up confirmation, returning from my own conference last week and prepping for a leadership retreat coming up…. there is a LOT going on.

What do you do when a deadline is rapidly approaching, and your devotion isn’t done, and a Tuesday Hope Filled Moment needs to be filmed and a Sunday sermon is on the horizon?
Panic? Deep breaths? Squeeze the stress ball harder? Pull an all nightery?

Or perhaps you do the two things that every Christian should be able to do.
Be honest – this week got away from me my friends.
And lean on God’s Word.
PSALMS 16
1 Keep me safe, my God,
for in you I take refuge.
2 I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
apart from you I have no good thing.”
3 I say of the holy people who are in the land,
“They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.”
4 Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more.
I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods
or take up their names on my lips.
5 Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup;
you make my lot secure.
6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
surely I have a delightful inheritance.
7 I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;
even at night my heart instructs me.
8 I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure,
10 because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
nor will you let your faithful one see decay.
11 You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
It’s funny I stopped to read those words and for a moment, since I focused on the Word, you know what I didn’t hear?

I know the one who is sovereign over the clock.
I know the one who makes known to me the path.
I know the Prince of Peace
Tick away clock, I will praise the Lord.
