Slogans
A strange thing happened to a mall worker the other day. She discovered a Burger King. I know that doesn’t sound like a big deal, we probably drive past one on the way home from work, but last week a clip went viral of a mall worker in Delaware’s Concord Mall who opened a door and was surprised to encounter an abandoned Burger King circa 1990. You can find video of it here. Now, after a moment of nostalgia I got thinking. In the Bible is says in Matthew 5:14 that:
You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
Wat about a burger King in the mall? That, my friends, is the challenge of the Scripture. You see God created you. God sent His Son to die for you. God sent His Spirit to call you into a Christ’s atonement and send you out to live His truth. When you do that, you can’t be hidden.
Or my friends, you can Have it your way.
You can argue with God, His definitions of sin, His atonement, His calling upon your life and His purpose for your creation. You can make reasons and try to come up with justifications but at the end of the day you really only have two possible destinations.
A City on a Hill
or
Choosing to be sealed in by the past. Your past.
Because the truth is, you have to choose, you can have it your way, or you can choose to have it His way.
After all…John 14:6 says
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
It’s the Real Thing,
It’s When God cares enough to send the very best,
And, my friends, I’m loving it.
I hope you do to….if you are on the fence, Just do it….. I need to stop don’t I…..
