A Fish Story
I want to talk to you today about a fish story. No, not Jonah, or the miracle of the catch of fish. This fish story is a lot more recent. A few weeks ago, there was a fish story that got the internet talking, and this is a story worthy of shark week! It seems a team of researchers were working with sonar and the image they saw off of Rhode Island was practically prehistoric. For several minutes the image on the sonar screen resembled the giant shark, megalodon. But like spotting a shape in the cloud soon it broke up. It seems our shark was nothing more than a giant school of mackerel. Harmless, but for a moment there that could have been deep trouble.
How many times in life do we look into the present and think the worst about something we have no control of? How often do we turn fish into sharks? We often find ourselves worked up, stressed out and panicking over fish stories?
We all do it. We often expect the worst. We often forget that ultimately God is in control. One of those verses I like to fall back on comes from the book of Philippians. A book we looked at our last Wednesday study service. Chapter 4:6 says;
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Today I want you to remember that fears come and go.
Christ remains and wants to hear from you. He is listening.
Pray, askā¦and receive peace.
Messiah over Megalodon my friends, See you Sunday!
