Heart (For D)
Heart (For D)
My brain wants to give me
A stoic’s heart
I think, to protect it
I reason, to hide it
Memento Mori
My ears heard:
“The wickedness of mankind was great,
Plans formed in their hearts were only evil.”
And
“To be sure, out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimonies, and blasphemies.”
Create in me a pure heart, O God. Renew an unwavering spirit within me.
My heart is afraid to say David’s Psalm
“Search me, O God, and know my heart!”
I know my heart.
My heart fails me.
Stop looking inward!
God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts
From the outside into the heart
As St Paul prayed, so I pray for you:
For this reason I kneel before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the entire family in heaven and on earth receives its name. I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, he would strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner self, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Then, being rooted and grounded in love, I pray that you would be able to comprehend, along with all the saints, how wide and long and high and deep his love is, and that you would be able to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled to all the fullness of God.

He put his mark on us to show that we are his. Yes, he put his Spirit in our hearts as the first payment that guarantees all that he will give us.
Christ’s Peace, my friend.
