Dan Howard has been a Pastor at Hope Lutheran church since 2015. Before becoming Senior Pastor in 2021 he served as both Youth Director, and as a Family Life Pastor. He is a Michigan native, born and raised in East Detroit. He received his training at Concordia University Ann Arbor, before receiving his pastoral certification through Concordia Seminary Saint Louis. When preparing for service you will often finding him in a commentary on the history of the Bible or digging through cultural notes as he loves to show how the life lived then helps us to live life now.
Pastor is supported by his amazing wife Moriah since 2003. They are blessed with two children, Natasha and Grayson. In his free time you can often find him enjoying the weather with music and a good book or in the company good friends. He looks forward to adding you to that circle.
His philosophy is that the church is called to be a community, and while the foundation of the church is Christ alone, we are called to build upon that foundation through the various relationships that God blesses us with. A laugh in celebration, a shoulder to cry on, silence and shouting, all are sacred moments in the presence of God.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18
“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”
